The biennial GAPP (Graphics, Advertising, Print & Packaging) Awards have become a showcase for the excellence of South African print professionals, their services and their work, as well as a barometer of the printing industry’s health and growth projections.
The 2024 edition of the event, a glittering black tie banquet and awards ceremony, took place recently on 25 October at Emperors Palace Centre Court, with Springbok rugby legend, John Smit, as Master of Ceremonies.
Proven quality & record attendance
To judge by the overall quality of print work entered for the judges’ consideration across multiple categories, there is little doubt that South African print service providers are truly world class in terms of quality output and innovation. A record attendance of over 1000 on the night also attested to the healthy growth of our industry at large.
To quote Vikesh Roopchand, Managing Director of Sentient Publishing and Publisher of The GAPP: “Tonight is a celebration of our industry; it’s our attempt to grow our sector from within. It is an opportunity to showcase to the world what we can do. We come together not just to acknowledge individual accomplishments but to celebrate the collective spirit of innovation and collaboration that drives us all forward.”
