Kemtek’s Print Services Division Increases its Firepower with Canon Partnership

Welcoming Canon as our newest principal

As part of Kemtek’s strategic pivot towards servicing the entire commercial digital printing sector in South Africa and beyond, we are proud to announce that we have now signed up global OEM Canon as a principal.

With Canon’s printing press solutions as part of our Print Solutions Division, we can now service a much wider segment of the market and go beyond those areas we have traditionally focused on. With Canon’s toner-based solutions coming in at a different price point, we can now engage with smaller print enterprises.

This is aligned with our goal of enabling and empowering the evolution and convergence of these smaller and start-up PSPs. Until now, there has been a gap in the market for machines that will let smaller companies expand their offering to their clients by adding bespoke services such as book printing and binding. In this way, these companies can capture new business over and above low-margin, high-volume basic printing services.

Serving the nation

Thanks to our nationwide footprint, with regional offices in Gauteng, Cape Town, Durban and Gqeberha, Kemtek has always been able to engage with print companies across South Africa. In combination with our wholehearted embracing of digital technology and our existing line-up of world-class brands, this has enabled us to assist companies to meet customer demand and deliver new growth and revenue opportunities.

Ongoing relationships

At Kemtek, we have always believed that the sale is just the start, and we invest in ongoing relationships with all our resellers and customers. We enjoy nothing more than walking the path of growth and evolution with a client, and sharing in their success.

With over 35 years of experience in managing complex sales cycles and delivering sophisticated solutions, we have always been much more than an office outfitting company. Instead, we develop solutions and services around each machine that we sell – indeed, we’re not simply selling hardware, but rather business growth opportunities.

New opportunities

In addition to our current superb sales team, the new partnership with Canon has created recruitment and upskilling opportunities – by hiring additional technical experts and customer relationship management experts, we are playing our part in addressing the unemployment and skills shortages challenges faced by South Africa.

We have also found immediate and enduring synergies with the Canon team – people who share our customer-centric, solutions-focused outlook. There’s a great cultural fit between our two companies, and we cannot commend Canon enough for their onboarding process which has involved providing support and training for our team.

The way that Canon does business is rooted in the Japanese philosophy of harmonious co-existence, and this has been our experience from day one. This commitment to symbiotic relationships has been apparent in their desire to ‘make it work’ for customers, and in the sales and marketing tools they have made available to Kemtek’s Canon team, including their online costings tool and the Canon Experience Centre in Pretoria.

Beyond technology

When customers engage with Kemtek and purchase Canon printing presses, they are also tapping into our industry knowledge and gaining access to our robust service and technical offering. This includes investing in technician training with our OEM partners (including Canon) and our understanding of optimum stocking levels for spare parts.

Kemtek is now offering  a range of Canon digital toner-based printing presses, including the remarkable Canon varioPRINT 6180 Titan – optimised for high-volume monochrome book work, it can print one billion sheets in its lifetime. In other words, you could print a copy of this blog for every single person in Africa on just one of these Canon presses.

The Kemtek Team

Exciting partnerships

The relationship with Canon has enabled us to diversify our portfolio through linking with a credible partner, and add printing presses to our range that are complementary to our existing portfolio. With Canon on board, we can now go to market with the best solution at every price point.

Partnering with Canon is a further example of our commitment to adapting and maintaining our leading-edge position in the market. By providing the solution the market requires at a comprehensive range of technology and price points, we can ignite growth both for ourselves and our customers.

In order to enable more customers to access Canon’s solutions, we will also be offering game-changing financing solutions in partnership with Centrafin and The Rental Company.
