Achingly cool magazine looks backwards and forwards to create unique wall art.

Wallpaper* magazine is well known for being the definitive guide to what’s hot and what’s not, so the fact that they turned to HP Mosaic to create something unique and special for each of their readers shows that this digital printing technology is not just innovative, but in demand.

To celebrate their 20th anniversary, Wallpaper* gave each reader a unique, numbered poster commemorating 20 years of design. Graphic design studio Spin was commission to create 12 original artworks on this theme, and from these, HP Mosaic software created some 220 000 unique posters, thanks to its ability to produce millions of individual interpretations from creative artwork.

Wallpaper’s informative and interesting editorial piece was first reimagined by Spin, and then given a whole new spin by the power of HP Mosaic. This pushing of the boundaries of print greatly impressed the team at Wallpaper* and brought the capabilities of HP Mosaic to a global audience of design-conscious creative types.

This combination of an emotional connection with Wallpaper* readers, and a real-life demonstration of the unprecedented possibilities of HP Mosaic, further underlined that while print has played a huge role in the history of design, it also has a great deal still to offer.
