Head of Creative Technologies, Technology Solutions
Summary of Role:
The overall purpose of this position is for the leadership management, control, and accountability of running this Business Line. To develop a business plan, that is aligned with the Company goals and objective. Execute the plan to ensure the Business Line achieves sustainable profitable growth. To provide direction to all staff within the Business Line and the extended sales team in the Division.
Areas of responsibility include:
Sales Channel Development:
- Develop and manage a sales channel for all our Creative Technologies products.
- Identify and establish relationships with suppliers to ensure favourable terms and prices for sourcing products.
- Continuously assess market trends and customer needs to identify new opportunities and expand into new markets.
- Lead the sales representatives in finding and onboarding resellers.
- Expanding into new markets, leading and inspiring a team of salespeople and resellers, conducting product research in collaboration with the marketing department, and developing effective marketing plans.
Team Leadership and Management:
- Build, manage, and inspire a team of salespeople, partners and resellers to achieve sales targets.
- Provide guidance, support, and training to the team to enhance their sales skills and product knowledge.
- Set clear performance expectations, monitor progress, and conduct performance evaluations.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes teamwork and motivation.
Product Research, Marketing and Development:
- Collaborate with the marketing department to conduct research on creative technologies which may be suitable for those markets, focusing specifically on the hobby, home and light commercial industries.
- Work closely with the marketing team to develop effective marketing plans for existing products, ensuring successful sell-through.
- Provide insights and feedback to the marketing team regarding market trends, customer preferences, and competitive landscape.
- Ensure seamless coordination between the sales and marketing teams to optimize sales efforts.
- Investigate the opportunity to grow the consumable market for the hobby and home industry sectors and present a business plan to management to implement this strategy.
Sales Target Achievement and Profit Margins:
- Establish annual sales targets and develop quarterly and monthly targets to track and measure progress.
- Implement strategies to achieve sales targets while maintaining profitable margins.
- Regularly analyse sales data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor and manage pricing strategies to maximize revenue and profitability.
- This position requires innovative strategies to manage stock holdings, including the sales of slow-moving inventory.
- Collaborate with suppliers, partners and resellers to minimize stock obsolescence and maximize inventory turnover.
- Conduct regular inventory analysis and forecasting to ensure optimal stock levels and prevent stockouts.
Reporting and Performance Metrics:
- Generate and analyse various reports to track sales performance, revenue, profitability, and other key metrics.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior management, highlighting areas of success and areas needing improvement.
- Implement effective systems and processes to streamline reporting and data analysis.
Customer Issue Resolution:
- Work closely with customers to address and resolve any issues or concerns promptly and effectively.
- Serve as the escalation point for complex customer issues, ensuring timely and satisfactory resolutions.
- Foster strong customer relationships through excellent communication and a customer-centric approach.
- Collaborate with suppliers to manage stock forecasts and ensure product availability.
- Building strong relationships with suppliers, sourcing products at favorable terms and prices.
- Continually research global trends to identify potential products and suppliers that would enhance the product offering for this business line and engage with those suppliers.
Requirements for this position include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field (MBA would be advantageous).
- Proven experience in sales management, preferably within the Hobby and home industry markets or related sectors.
- Strong knowledge of Kemtek’s products, market trends, and distribution channels.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and negotiate favourable terms.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a track record of motivating and inspiring teams to achieve sales targets.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to identify new market opportunities and drive business growth.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to leverage data to make informed business decisions.
